Join us as we explore the magnificent
outback region of Rudall River National Park.
Situated about 400 km east of
Newman in Western Australia's Great Sandy Desert, this is truly
one of the most remote wilderness areas in the world. At 1,283,706
hectares, the park is the largest in Western Australia, situated
between the Great Sandy Desert and Little Sandy Desert and includes
the watershed of the Rudall River.
Vegetation in the Rudall River
National Park is a mixture of desert bloodwood, feathertop spinifex
with river red gums and coolabah trees found on the river flats.
After a good rain there are also many wildflowers (wattles, mulla
mullas, grevilleas, sturt desert peas and hakeas) that add their
colours to the landscape.
Wildlife includes a variety of
birdlife and mammals such as the hairy footed dunnart and the spinifex
hopping mouse. The larger mammals consist of camels and dingoes.
You may either join as a tag-along
in your own or hired 4WD vehicle or as a passenger in our vehicle.
