Education & Enriching Outdoor
Experiences...
Education through enriching experiences
is the fundamental aim of ENVIRONMENTAL ENCOUNTERS (AUST) schools
programmes. We have over twenty years experience in developing and
conducting outdoors programmes for schools - a background which
has continually reinforced the most basic element in outdoor education
- that it must be FUN for the participants.
Our Outdoor Education School Programs
may be categorised into the following areas:
- Primary school & special theme camps
- Wilderness challenge programmes
- Duke of Edingburgh scheme assistance
- Outdoor education, recreation & adventure
activities
Courses Customised for Each School
or Youth Group...
Our courses are customised to suit
the needs of each school or youth group. We work with teachers to
identify the groups' specific needs and objectives then develop
a suitable programme within the agreed budget.
Our Approach to Outdoor Education
for Schools...
We recognise the significance of a
realistic appreciation of human limits and capacities. Our approach
is one of learning to live with the natural environment rather than
fighting against it. This is consistent with conservation values
and emphasis on environmental appreciation and community whilst
allowing children and young people to become comfortable and confident
in the outdoor environment.
Safety...
Our highly qualified staff are required
to provide excellent service to our clients. All staff have extensive
experience in their special areas of competence, hold all relevant
certificates and continually upgrade and revise their skills. Risk
Management and Safety are of paramount importance.
"A
huge thank you to all the Environmental Encounters staff who were
involved with our recent Year 8 expedition along the Bibbulmun Track.
The quality of the staff expertise, dedication and the inter-relationships
formed with our students was outstanding. Safety, supervision and
care were of the utmost priority throughout the week and were unquestionable.
A great range of activities and challenges were provided by EEA,
with students encouraged to opt in rather than coerced into participation".
"A big issue for the success of any school trip is often the
quality and variety of the food on offer. Again, this was of the
highest quality, with fresh fruit, drinks and snacks available throughout
the day and night - no one went hungry at any stage!"
"Your preparation, organisation, care, devotion and attention
to fine detail were beyond measure. All of our 85 students had a
fantastic time and gained so much from the week away in the Australian
bush. It is noticeable already how they have matured, become increasingly
self reliant and confident. The valuable teamwork and bonding skills
they have learnt will set them up well for their remaining years
in school and future."
